In 2004, Joan founded The Inner Garden, Inc., a horticultural services company specializing in the creation of sustainable landscapes and the use of tropical plants for green interior plantscapes.
A graduate of Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa, with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture, she is also a VT Certified Horticulturist. She is a member of VT Nursery and Landscape Association and the Ecological Landscape Alliance.
Joan moved to VT in 1995 because of her love of the mountains and the abounding natural landscape that VT offers. Though she hails from a warmer climate (and longer growing season) she fell in love with VT and found a strong sense of connection to her surroundings and the desire to bring nature and people together through her work.
She lives in the Champlain Valley enjoying family, friends and gardens and is an active member of the community.
